Pakistan Raises Petrol Prices, Diesel Gets a Price Cut

As of April 1st, 2024, petrol prices in Pakistan have risen by Rs. 9 per litre. This increase brings the new price to Rs. 289.41 per litre and will be in effect until April 15th. The rise is linked to a global increase in petrol prices, which recently reached $94.5 per barrel. Interestingly, diesel prices have moved in the opposite direction on the global market. This allows the Pakistani government to maintain a stable import premium for diesel and even reduce its domestic price slightly.
