Qualifications: a) Primary Qualification:
MBBS or equivalent from a university recognized by the Pakistan Medical Commission/Pakistan Medical & Dental Council.
Alternative Qualification (if above not available):
- MBBS or equivalent from a university recognized by the Pakistan Medical Commission/Pakistan Medical & Dental Council.
- FCPS, MS, FRCS, MRCP, MD, Diplomat of American Board (in General Surgery or Medicine, relevant to the specialty) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Three years of post-graduation practical experience in the specialty from a recognized institute.
b) Experience:
- Three years of teaching experience as an Associate Professor or an equivalent position recognized by PMDC/PMC, provided the total teaching experience as Assistant/Associate Professor is not less than eight years.
- OR nine years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in a recognized institution with at least five research papers published in a standard medical journal during tenure as Assistant/Associate Professor.

Additional Requirements:
- Research Papers: Only original articles published in book-form or recognized online foreign journals indexed by PMC/PMDC/Pubmed/Index Medicus/Excerpta Medica/Embase will be considered. Review articles, case studies/reports, translations, briefs, papers presented at conferences, editorials, etc., are not admissible. A recognition list of such journals by PMC/PMDC is required.

Important Notes: i) Applicants must submit a hard copy of their online application form along with two sets of photocopies of all relevant documents and research papers within seven working days after the closing date. ii) PMDC/PMC registration must be valid up to the closing date. If expired, proof of renewal application before the closing date is required. iii) For government employees, experience certificates along with appointment letters for contract, current charge, acting charge, and ad hoc appointments issued by the appointing authority/head of institution/department are required. Experience gained on OPS (own pay & scale) is not accepted after 17-06-2021. iv) For private/foreign sector candidates, foreign/private experience is considered only if recognized and issued by PMDC/PMC.
